Rye Maritime Heritage Partnership

At the start of the ‘Maritime Rye’ project in 1993 the intention was to publish the colour version of ‘Rye From the Water’s Edge’ (published with pen & ink sketches in 1996) as a ‘coffee table millennium edition’ in three volumes. But technology for the processing of words, talk and pictures has moved rapidly. So the ‘Maritime Rye’ project has been reinvented with a distinction being made between those parts which looked to the past and those that looked to the future. The ‘Rye Maritime Heritage Collection’ is the first of two collections planned for the ‘Maritime Rye Project' and went on public display for the first time at the Rye Treasury for the Rye Festival in September 2000.
