The motor sailers we have chosen for the Good Yacht Guide are either those specifically described by the builders as motor sailers or those having an enclosed wheelhouse or a wheel shelter and/or alternative steering positions in a raised deck saloon. The majority of motor sailers have long keels or at least long fins; some have the option of additional bilge-plates to allow the vessel to dry out upright on a firm surface. Most have fairly shoal draft and will sit comfortably on a mud berth.
