Membership
Rule 3 Any person sympathetic with the objects of the Association is eligible for individual or 'family membership'.
'Family membership' shall be open to two persons, e.g. wife and husband or persons in partnership who share the same address for Association purposes.
References in these rules to 'member' or 'members' shall be deemed to apply equally to individual members and family members.
This paragraph means that your £8 subscription buys you two votes at the AGM if you claim family membership.
Rule 4A candidate for membership after being nominated by one fully paid-up member may be elected by the Committee of the Association at its discretion.
Rule 5A person or persons may, at a general meeting and on the recommendation of the Committee, be elected to honorary membership.
Rule 6Every member shall, on election, be given a copy of these rules and shall be deemed to have undertaken to comply with them.
Any infringement of these rules or conduct deemed by the Committee to be injurious to the interests of the Association shall render a member liable to expulsion by the Committee provided that, before expelling a member, he or she shall be given the opportunity to give a written or verbal explanation.
The vote on a resolution for expulsion shall be by ballot and shall be deemed to have been carried if not less than three quarters of the Committee Members present vote in favour.
